A Modern Classic of the Faith

There are a few books that I consider "most important" in my life. The Bible is first. After that, the list is very short, and includes "The Practice of the Presence of God" (the teachings of Brother Lawrence) and a couple of others. This book - "What Is The Point?" by Misty Edwards - is now on that list. If you're already a Christian and want to develop a new and deeper level of understanding of Jesus and the heart of God, read this book. --Bob Young

A book for the pilgrimage.

What is The Point? is a book for the pilgrimage. This book is not talking about a faith that we shine up and put in a display case to look nice, one that we clean up once in while when it gets visibly dusty and one that people admire and remark about how successfully we maintain our Christianity... No, this book is about a living faith, about loving the One who Lives, the Lord who is more Alive than we can ever comprehend, and who desires us to love Him with a living, growing love, the way He loves us.

What is The Point? is one of the nest books I have read this year. It is so good that I have a hard time reviewing it... I just want to highly recommend it.
At this point in my life, What is The Point pressed one main truth into my heart over and over as I read, the Truth of Revelation 2:4, 5. Even as a Born Again Christian, as a soul who has been washed in the precious saving blood of my Lord, my passion for God can fade if I let it.
If I begin consuming the world's delicacies, I will lose my taste for the Bread of Heaven.
I will get distracted by temporal things that seem so important, and aren't at all.
I will lose my joy in Jesus.
Over and over, I need to be called back to Him, my first Love.
And I can return, and be filled again with His love, and my Love for Him will be strengthened and restored.

What is the Point may seem like a small book, but it is solid, and I know that when I re-read this book, in seven months or in a year, there will be another lesson that my heart needs to learn, and the words in this book will help me.

Just as in the realm of physics or chemistry every additional experiment that produces results consonant with a given hypothesis is regarded as added confirmation of its probability, so in the sphere of Biblical studies the successful extension of the area of exposition serves to validate the commentator's interpretative principles. These considerations apart, the present work is rich in original insights and scholarly illuminations that make it an invaluable guide to the Bible student—be he an erudite scholar or just a well-read lay enquirer—irrespective of the opinions he holds with regard to the Higher Critical doctrines... Man proposes . . . It was not, alas, Cassuto's destiny, to our infinite sorrow, to complete his plans. At the fifth verse of the thirteenth chapter of the first book of the Torah the pen fell from his strengthless hand. The sudden and untimely passing of Cassuto, when he was at the height of his scholarly creativity, was an immeasurable loss to Jewish scholarship as a whole, and more specifically to Bible research and exposition. Even the fragment from the third volume of his commentary on Genesis is a brilliant example of exegetical writing. I shall, I believe, be voicing the views of many Biblical exegetes when I declare that we cannot but be grateful that this segment of his contemplated work was vouchsafed us, although the heart yearns for what the maestro still had in his mind but was not granted to bequeath to us in writing.

About the Author
Alain-G. Gagnon is Canada Research Chair in Quebec and Canadian Studies and Professor of Political Science, Universit� du Qu�bec à Montr�al. Member of the Royal Society of Canada, Gagnon's research and writing has concentrated on Quebec and Canadian politics, with a special emphasis on multinational federalism, nationalism, identity politics, and party politics. Soeren Keil received a Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Kent in Canterbury and is Senior Lecturer in International Relations at Canterbury Christ Church University. His main research focuses on institutional design in post-conflict societies with a particular focus on the Western Balkans, particularly Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is especially interested in power-sharing models in divided societies, as well as forms of territorial and non-territorial autonomy for minority nations. Sean Mueller is the Editorial Assistant of the Swiss Political Science Review and Lecturer at the Institute of Political Science of the University of Berne. He is also co-convenor of the standing group on 'Federalism & Territorial Politics' of the Swiss Political Science Association (since 2011) and in the editorial board of 'F�d�ralisme-R�gionalisme' (since 2013). He defended his PhD thesis on explaining intra-cantonal decentralisation in Switzerland at the University of Kent in Canterbury, UK, in May 2013, and was awarded his doctorate in November 2013.

Ty Benbow is an emerging young author originally from Muncie, IN.

He graduated with a BA in Psychology from Wabash College in 2008, and later received his M.Div. from Anderson University School of Theology in 2011.

Ty wrote his debut novel I’m Not Real while serving as Student’s Pastor at Central Community Church in Wichita, KS.

He currently serves in the Christian Ministry Department at Warner University in Lake Wales, FL where he teaches courses on Understanding the Old Testament and Life of Christ.

Ty and his wife Riley currently reside in Winter Haven, FL.�

This is a great book, not only because it keeps you entertained and wanting to know what's going to happen next throughout the entirety, but also because it does it while communicating on a subject that is so delicate. This book will open your eyes to some things our world wants them to remain closed on and will touch your heart in one way or another no matter what your background. I would recommend this book to anyone because it is very entertaining, powerful and moving. You won't want to put it down! Great work by this young man. I am already ready to read what comes next!

This is the most incredible book I've ever read!!

This is the most incredible book I have ever read!! The compassion shown throughout the entire book is beyond anything I have ever experienced. It is not what I expected but I can say that the Lord has used this young man to touch more lives than imaginable. My prayer is that every woman or man that have experienced this could read this awesome book, or if you know anyone that has gone through this to read it also. I think the biggest description I can give is, it offers "a healing balm" that is so desperately needed for such broken hearts. It shows just how deep our Heavenly Father's love is for us all. There are no words to express the gratitude to the Lord for such a gift as this and for the young man that allowed the Lord to work through him in such a mighty way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
